Summary:Call for vocal scores

Details: The competition is open to all young composers between the ages of 16 and 25 on 1st September 2013 and born/studying/resident in the UK.

Entrants are invited to submit songs or vocal compositions in any genre of music, suitable for live performance and appealing to a wide range of concertgoers.

The submitted work should be for 1 or 2 singers / vocalists (independent lines) and between 2 – 5 players. The choice of text is at the discretion of the composer. The style
of the work can draw on any background (classical, jazz, rock, folk, Asian, fusion, etc). Instrumentation is up to the composer.

The submitted work should last between 6 and 12 minutes, and may include more than one movement / section if required. We regret that works of fewer than 6 minutes’ or
more than 12 minutes’ duration will not be considered.
