Carreers in composition  Columbus at 03:17 on 28 August 2006

Hello, this is my first post here. I'm now a senior in high school, and I'm trying to figure out what I want to do with my life.

I've always loved music, so it was the first thing that popped into my mind when i thought "carreer!" I originally thouhgt I'd go into recording, but after some thought, I really don't think that's for me. This is when composing came in. It was always in the back of my mind, but now I'm trying to decide if this is what I want to do.

So I have a few questions:
-What kind of education should I get in order to be taken seriously? (college, major in composition?)
-How hard is it to actually make a carreer/living this?
-What sort of jobs do "composers" generally have?

Sorry if that was long-winded and if I posted this in the wrong place

I think you best look to ask people who do music as a career to get a good answer. Try, there are a few good musicians there you make a living from composition
