Does anyone know any good examples of notating violin folk music?
I don't mean just the melodies but the various embellishments and ornaments, particularly those found in Eastern European folk + gypsy music? Or any pieces that use these kind of effects a lot.
The one example of the latter I have found is Berio's Voci for viola, which has some great examples. Anyone have any suggestions for anything more?

I just came across this book published by Schott which is Indian Melodies for violin - not Eastern European but it does deal with 'folk' techniques for Western players.
