Classical melodies in popular or contemporary music.  soundssand at 20:18 on 26 October 2012

Whenever I here certain parts of these classic pieces it makes me think of the Band of Brothers theme song.

In Dvorak's Violin Concerto in A minor the short repeated phrase starting at 1:58 in this video...

...sounds like the theme starting at 5:26 in this video of the Band of Brothers theme...

In Boccherini's String Quintet Op 29 No. 2 the response melody from 0:06 to 0:08 on the attatched mp3(pick up to measure 5 I think) sounds like the response melody at about 6:04 in the Band of Brothers video above.

I realize these are very very short. But the feeling is the same and it is so characteristic that I always think of Band of Brothers when I here these.

Anyone else notice popular or contemporary melodies when they here classical pieces?

I can see the resemblance.

I personally have a lot of inspiration from J.S. Bach concertos and J.P. Rameau.
It might be evident in this piece...particularly the J.S. Bach influence...
