Two choirs loosely represent the narrator, and a Greek tragedy-style commentating chorus, gradually combining as the drama unfolds. As well as stealth, treachery and triumphalism, I also wanted to convey despair and regret as the underside of this poisonous fruit.

There is also a version for Baritone and SATB, first performed at St James's, Piccadilly in November 2007.
